Recruiting for an Assembly Operative Fitting Shop
MondayFriday, 37.5 hours per week, early finish Friday at 12 midday
Salary from £30000 to £33000 per annum plus overtime opportunity
Must have a minimum of only 1 to 2 jobs in the past 5 years
We are looking for an Assembly Operative to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Denham, near Uxbridge. The role involves assembling and testing a variety of components, from large structures to smaller sub-assemblies, cables, high-pressure hoses, and gun components.
This is a hands-on role requiring good attention to detail, ability to follow engineering drawings, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities as an Assembly Operative
Assemble and test sub-assemblies, gun builds, hoses, and fittings to technical drawings and specifications.
Carry out riveting, drilling, swaging, bonding, and pressure testing processes.
Inspect and quality-check work to required aerospace standards.
Follow Health & Safety, COSHH, and quality procedures at all times.
Support lean initiatives, 5S, and continuous improvement programs.
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment.
What we are looking for in an Assembly Operative
Essential:
Basic manufacturing/engineering background.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Familiar with H&S, quality, and COSHH regulations.
Basic PC skills and use of engineering hand tools.
Measuring tools like calliper's micrometers
Reading job cards
Use of jigs, hand tool and machineries like Braker Radial for riveting
Manual dexterity and very good attention to detail
Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
Team player with ability to work independently.
Desirable:
SAP experience.
Use of drilling machines, adhesives, and riveting techniques.
Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
Additional Information
Location requires own transport (site not easily accessible by public transport).

Security clearance and compliance with Control of Explosives Regulations may be required.
