Essential criteria
1. •First level Registration Nurse or Paramedic •A33 autonomous Practitioner or Minor Injuries & illness qualification accredited at level 6 or above. •advanced Physical Assessment qualification at level 6 or above. •X Ray interpretation (IRMER). •Interpretation of images (Red Dot Course). •BLS
2. •Substantial experience and evidence of practice in an emergency or urgent care setting with exposure to a wide variety of patients with emergency or urgent care needs •Excellent knowledge base in the assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment of patients who present with undefined injury and/or illness •Recent and continuing evidence of developing practice •In depth understanding of local and national issues relating to emergency or urgent care •Good decision making, communication and organisational skills •Up to date knowledge of Department of Health and NICE guidelines
Desirable criteria
3. •Independent and Supplementary Prescribing •Teaching and Assessing qualification •ALS/PALS • Management/ Leadership qualification. • Evidence of continuing professional education and training at master's level. • MSc Advanced Practice
4. Experience in general practice or walk in centre • Evidence of audit or research experience •IT skills to perform literature searches enabling enhancement of theoretical knowledge

Able to recognise own boundaries of practice, maintain standards and work within local guidelines and protocols and in accordance with the NMC and HCPC. •Competent in physical examination of ENT, Eye, Gastrointestinal, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Neurological, Skin, Musculoskeletal systems, suturing and wound management. • Management of injury and illness • Fracture management • IT skills to enable accurate, contemporaneous recording of consultations •Suturing • X-ray interpretation •Communicates with patients and carers in an empathetic manner. •Demonstrates understanding of good practice in Customer Care •Committed to self-directed development and the development of the service •Assertive, adaptable and flexible to the needs of the service
