Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Band 8b Operational Manager with significant procurement expertise to provide strategic and operational leadership across Surgery, Theatres and Critical Care.
This is a senior leadership role, responsible for ensuring high-quality, cost-effective services that deliver value for money while meeting organisational, regulatory, and patient care objectives.
The post holder will lead on complex operational delivery, service improvement, and financial stewardship, with a strong focus on procurement strategy, contract management, and supplier performance within the NHS context.
Main duties of the job
Demonstrable senior operational management experience within the NHS or a comparable complex organisation.
Demonstrable, in-depth experience of procurement, including tendering, contract management, and commercial negotiations. Proven track record of managing large budgets and delivering cost improvement programmes.
Experience of leading service change and improvement at a strategic level.
