Job Description:
MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to oversee the management and maintenance of on-site facilities for a leading manufacturing company in the Greater Belfast area.
This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services to improve compliance, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
You will:
* Ensure all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
* Manage service contracts such as water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
* Develop and maintain environmental databases for reporting and investigate environmental incidents or concerns.
* Lead internal environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact.
* Coordinate with suppliers to source efficient equipment and services.
* Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to leadership.
* Engage with regulatory bodies for audits, reporting, permits, and funding opportunities.
* Identify and lead the implementation of cost-saving projects.
* Conduct risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.
Requirements include a degree in Engineering, Environmental sciences, or related fields, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks such as ISO 14001 and PPC.
