About this opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive?

Cumberland Council are looking for caring, resilient, and motivated individuals to join our Children's Homes team as Residential Support Workers. In this rewarding role, you'll provide high-quality, person-centred care to children and young people aged 8–18.

You'll need strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to work flexibly - including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. In return, you'll join a supportive team committed to making a lasting impact, with opportunities for ongoing training, development, and career progression.

Cumberland Council is proud to hold an Ofsted rating of 'Good' for our Children's Services, demonstrating our dedication and strong commitment to providing high-quality services for children and families. Ofsted recognised that staff unanimously report a 'real buzz about working in Cumberland' and that they feel 'energised, valued and listened to', observing that 'leaders have established a strong Cumberland identity that staff can be proud of'.
