Role Purpose The Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) is responsible for assisting the appointed Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) in the supervision, coordination, communication and checking of Temporary Works on site. The TWS acts as the on-site focal point for the control, inspection, and maintenance of Temporary Works, ensuring all works are undertaken safely, in compliance with approved design documentation. Main Responsibilities: Liaise and cooperate with the Arabelle Solutions TWC or appointed TWC to ensure consistent communication and compliance. Assist the TWC in verifying that Temporary Works activities are conducted in accordance with approved design documentation and procedures. Confirm receipt and adequacy of design information prior to commencement, including residual risks identified in the Temporary Works Design (TWD). Supervise the erection, use, maintenance, and dismantling of Temporary Works under their control. Conduct or oversee checks at appropriate stages of construction, installation, or assembly. Carry out or manage maintenance of Temporary Works as per the approved inspection and maintenance regime. Report any deviations, modifications, or unforeseen conditions (e.g., environmental or loading changes) to the TWC and, where applicable, to the Temporary Works Designer (TWD). Perform the final pre-use inspection to confirm the Temporary Works are safe and compliant prior to loading or bringing into use. Issue a “Notice to Prevent Loading” if discrepancies are found between certified and as-built Temporary Works, pending resolution and re-inspection by the TWC. Ensure issue of the Permit to Load / Proceed when the Temporary Works have been confirmed safe for use, and provide a copy to the PC’s TWC. Ensure issue of the Permit to Unload / Take Out of Use once the permanent works have attained sufficient strength and stability, and provide a copy to the PC’s TWC. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BS 5975 (BS 5975:2024 – Code of Practice for Temporary Works Procedures) and the project’s Temporary Works Procedures. Maintain accurate site records, permits, and inspection reports. Attend coordination meetings and contribute to the Temporary Works registers and audit process. Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring that all Temporary Works are properly controlled and understood by all parties involved. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor degree civil or possibly mechanical Strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively in a number of formats Logical mindset with strong problem solving skills Excellent computer skills in using Office Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point). Attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Desired skills Previous internship or work experience in the nuclear industry or a related field would be advantageous but not essential Strong interest in the nuclear services industry and a desire to learn and grow in this field.
