Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer Location: Walsall based but with travel Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 plus car/allowance and benefits An exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic project team. Based primarily at our Walsall Office, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects within the Southern and Central Frameworks. This role presents an exciting chance to contribute to projects ranging from £250k to £8M, partnering with leading water companies. Onsite are part of SSI within the South Staffordshire Group – the 3000 employee-strong group behind South Staffs and Cambridge water and a host of other businesses that feed into the utilities sector. What’s the role: Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests at supplier premises and generating comprehensive reports, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. Managing the electrical work scope during the Solution Pricing Stage, coordinating with subcontractors to guarantee adherence to design requirements. Deliver telemetry specialised upgrades on behalf of a water industry client to ensure future connectivity. Supervising and providing guidance to a team of mobile engineers to carry out LV electrical work on telemetry systems and instrumentation on the potable and wastewater networks to client and design specifications. Overseeing the compilation and verification of project operation, maintenance manuals, and other essential completion documentation, maintaining accuracy and completeness. Assisting in progress monitoring and reporting to the M&E Project Manager, providing timely updates on project status and potential issues. What you will need: Prior experience in the water industry is highly desirable, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry-specific challenges, standards, and practices. Possess an HNC/HND or equivalent degree in engineering, showcasing a strong foundation in engineering principles and knowledge. Good understanding of Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) regulations, with comprehensive knowledge of health and safety protocols, emphasizing a commitment to safety throughout project execution. A background in Electrical engineering is preferred. Hold a valid UK driving license, enabling flexibility and mobility for site visits and project-related travel as required.
