Overview
The role: Senior Manufacturing Engineer with an electronic and testing bias, based in Templecombe. You will join the Thales Underwater Systems team in the Towed Array production cell as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This position has a 4 day week (Monday–Thursday) and 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities
* Contribute to the Manufacturing engineering phase and the successful introduction into production of new and legacy products within a defined production centre/area (transverse scope).
* Collaborate with Engineering teams through the Design, Development and Qualification phase to review Product Defining Data (PDD) and ensure it is suitable for manufacture; analyse and initiate changes to PDD during the product lifecycle.
* Prepare data for and run Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) on behalf of the industry.
* Identify opportunities for manufacturing equipment capital purchases with financial assessment (Cost-Benefit Analysis & ROI) to improve competitiveness.
* Assess the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) of products to minimise manufacturing risks.
* Define, setup, prepare and optimise manufacturing processes and tooling for a defined area or product line, including layout and infrastructure considerations.
* Support technological innovation to reduce costs and improve workflows.
* Attend Material Review Boards (MRBs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs); actively manage failures and changes.
* Develop test procedures and methods for manufacturing equipment, including programs, benches and interfaces.
* Capture lessons learned from production for new product introduction and capitalise those insights.
* Define and apply baselines and provide support to end users of the manufacturing process.
Your Skills And Experience
* Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, ideally in electronic assembly, fabrication, or testing.
* Familiarity with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
* Knowledge of manufacturing systems.
* Practical industrial experience in introducing new technologies, including change management and impact analysis.
Due to the nature of Thales work, this role requires security clearance. This position may require the applicant to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).
