Health Visitor – NHS Lanarkshire
Location: Rutherglen Primary Care Centre
Contract: Permanent, Full‑time, 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 17:00
Responsibilities
* Designated Health Visitor for all children in caseload from antenatal to school entry age, excluding unborn child.
* Commence the child’s planning process and monitor wellbeing.
* Work in partnership with families and all involved agencies to produce and monitor a child’s plan.
* Maintain clinical, staff and information governance responsibilities and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience
Registration Requirements
* Registered nurse or midwife at degree level or equivalent.
* Post‑registration qualification in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing and registered on Part 3 of the NMC register.
Educational Requirements
* Master’s level education in a relevant nursing area, or
* Proven equivalent knowledge through completion of NES modules on Assessment, Leadership and Critical Thinking.
Knowledge and Skills
* Understanding of health and social care pathways, safeguarding, early intervention and protection.
* Knowledge of legislation on information sharing, data storage and public protection.
* Experience of caseload management, planning, partnership working and a strength‑based approach.
* Proficiency in assessment tools for referral pathways.
* Critical thinking to manage risks and make effective decisions.
* Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, service standards and improvements.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
Driving Licence
A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required where the job requires travel.
