Specialist Mental Health Therapist - STARS
Responsibilities
* To be responsible for providing high quality therapeutic support and advice to children and young people, parents and families who present with a range of mental health and emotional needs in relation to the child’s experience of sexual trauma.
* To deliver therapeutic support and advice to children, young people and families affected by sexual trauma.
* To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist support in relation to children, young people and families referred to STARS.
* To offer therapeutic sessions to a child or young person, on a group, family or individual basis, including pre-trial support and to review progress of the support provided on a regular basis (evening groups for young people may be included).
* To offer support and advice to the carers of children and young people affected by sexual trauma, which may include individual, group or family work.
* To undertake ongoing evaluation of the outcome of the interventions provided.
* To be committed to providing a high quality child-focused service for children and young people affected by sexual trauma, highlighting and respecting the wishes of the child or young person.
