At Breathe, we build HR software that helps growing businesses save time and make people admin easier. We're looking for a QA Engineer who cares deeply about product quality, loves giving fast feedback, and sees AI as a practical part of modern testing, not a buzzword. If you're an engineer who enjoys spotting risks early and helping engineers ship with confidence, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing As our QA Engineer, you'll own quality across the features which you support. That means asking great questions early, and making sure testing is focused where it matters most. You'll: Use AI as a core testing tool to generate test ideas, analyse logs, understand system behaviour and speed up test data creation Work closely with Engineering before development starts, reviewing requirements and acceptance criteria for clarity, completeness and testability Plan test approaches including understanding effort, risk and coverage Carry out exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, usability issues and unexpected behaviours Write and maintain automated tests that provide fast, reliable feedback Contribute to test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, investigating failures and helping keep suites healthy Maintain realistic test environments and data so testing is repeatable and trustworthy We're looking for someone who combines strong QA fundamentals with good judgement and a collaborative mindset. You'll likely bring: Some experience in exploratory testing, test case design and risk-based testing A growing understanding of what needs deep testing, what needs lighter-touch validation, and when testing is sufficient An interest in writing and maintaining automated tests within established frameworks A practical understanding of CI/CD and how testing supports fast, safe delivery An interest in sharing what you've learned You'll do well in this role if you: Are people-first in how you work with others and give feedback Look for efficient ways to solve problems instead of over-testing for the sake of it Leave things better than you found them Can break work down, prioritise mindfully and stay focused on what matters most for customers Why Breathe Breathe was created to make HR easier after seeing first-hand that existing systems weren't delivering on the promise of saving businesses time.
