We have a role within our busy Contracts team at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Our Trust cares for people with mental health and emotional well-being needs every day. And we need your expertise.
This is a full-time post (37.5 hours per week). The role will be based in Leatherhead in our recently refurbished Headquarters at the Mole Valley Business Park. Travelling across our locations in Surrey on occasion is something that may be required going forward however this can be discussed with a great degree of flexibility.
Main duties of the job
Ideally you will have prior NHS experience of working in contracting and be familiar with the NHS standard contract. We are seeking someone with knowledge of buying healthcare services and/or arranging clinical contracts.
You will support the Associate Director of Contracting in leading the Trust’s commercial strategy. You will work closely with the Procurement team to ensure effective procurement oversight, robust contract negotiation, and proactive supplier relationship management.
The successful applicant will play a vital part in deciding how our department is improving the method in which we collect, analyse, and share our information, also ensuring value for money, legal compliance, and the alignment of services with both clinical and operational priorities.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Qualified to Master’s level or with equivalent experience of working at a senior level in a contracting and/or commercial environment.
* A further qualification in accounting, law management or business development would be an advantage
Experience
* Demonstrate extensive experience in a contractual role involving negotiations/ monitoring with commissioners / providers
* Experience of leading contracts and negotiations to a successful conclusion
* Costing & pricing experience an advantage
* Experience of leading and managing a team
* Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
* Detailed knowledge of NHS Contracting and Commissioning processes
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Public Contracts Regulations, Provider Selection Regime (PSR), and Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).
* Comprehensive understanding of the NHS Standard Contract.
* Knowledge of current and frequently changing contract law
Skills
* Highly numerate and IT literate and able to make full use of IT suites
* Proven contract management skills
* Experience of analysing highly complex performance and activity information, and evaluating the impact on business performance
* Create and adapt tools and processes in your role to help others work better
* Development of local tariffs an advantage
