We are experiencing a significant phase of growth through organic product development, M&A, and international expansion. To support this, we are expanding our Product team, which will play a crucial role in our growth trajectory.
We are seeking a passionate Product Owner who is dedicated to enhancing the online client experience, eager to understand client needs deeply, and innovative in problem-solving. Your role will involve advancing our strategy to surpass client expectations and establish market leadership. You will influence the product roadmap, working closely with the Senior Product Owner, Product Manager, and our UX/UI team. Additionally, you will collaborate with our global Product colleagues to share best practices and foster ongoing knowledge and development.
This position is based in the NorthWest, with a scope that benefits clients across the UK and globally.
The role:
1. Be willing to learn and adapt to changing client expectations, legislative requirements, technological advancements, and product trends.
2. Define goals and outcomes for development projects aligned with priorities set by your Senior Product Owner and Product Lead.
3. Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and developers, to ensure clear understanding of objectives.
4. Propose operational improvements for our software based on feedback and insights.
5. Develop customer journey maps, acting as the primary contact between stakeholders and various teams.
6. Create comprehensive backlogs with MVPs and subsequent backlog items, considering associated risks.
7. Work with business, engineering, and technical teams to define solutions.
8. Manage scope, budget, and timelines, prioritizing based on stakeholder needs and objectives.
9. Oversee product and sprint backlogs, ensuring alignment with strategic and business goals.
10. Supervise sprint cycles, evaluating progress at each stage.
11. Conduct retrospectives, reviews, and sprint planning with support from Agile Coaches.
12. Secure senior management approval for recommendations and address any concerns.
13. Act as the Subject Matter Expert and advocate for your product/area within the business.
14. Ensure the product is reliable, scalable, and suitable for 24/7 global operation.
15. Produce and present analytics on product KPIs.
16. Communicate clear briefs, functional documentation, and coordinate with development teams.
What we are looking for:
1. At least 2 years of experience working in a Scrum team within a technology company.
2. Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
3. Client-focused mindset.
4. Ability to prioritize and take ownership.
5. Experience with requirements definition and user stories.
6. Strong stakeholder management skills.
