This is an exciting opportunity to join the hospital pharmacy team, taking a lead role in developing and managing the homecare pharmacy service. To directly lead in the coordination, development and delivery of medicines supplied to patients via homecare and to represent NHS Borders at national homecare committees and steering groups. To line manage the homecare pharmacy support worker, to develop and implement improvement plans and to develop reports on homecare drug usage, spend and trends.
Applicants must have a National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, SVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical science, Modern Apprentice Pharmacy Technician or equivalent recognised qualification and two years post qualification experience in a hospital or community pharmacy (one year of which may have been in full time college education studying for NC Pharmaceutical Sciences).
As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑ra‑ta. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
