PMLD Teacher
Are you a passionate and dedicated PMLD Teacher looking to make a real impact? Academics, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently working on behalf of a fantastic educational institution in Walsall to recruit an enthusiastic PMLD Teacher ready to support and inspire students with specific learning disabilities.
We are looking for a Teacher who is confident in working with students with SLD and PMLD needs, and who can provide both educational and pastoral support. Your ability to motivate and encourage progress will be key to helping each child reach their full potential.
About the role:
This is a rewarding and varied teaching role within a supportive and well-resourced SEND setting. You'll be working with small groups of pupils who have a range of complex needs including sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and medical needs. Each day will be different, and your creativity and care will help shape truly meaningful learning experiences.
You will:
* Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons tailored to pupils' EHCPs
* Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to deliver a holistic approach
* Use a wide range of communication strategies (e.g. Makaton, PECS, sensory stories)
* Create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment
* Be patient, adaptable and responsive to changing needs throughout the day
About You:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
* Experience working with PMLD/complex needs in a special or mainstream setting
* Confidence in using communication aids and sensory-based learning
* A positive attitude and a genuine passion for SEND education
