Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply) Location: Barnsley (S70, S71) Pay rate: £ 460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract type: Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time Can you support children with special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential? GSL Education are searching for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs in schools across Barnsley, including the S70 and S71 areas. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively. Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one and small group support as a SEN Teaching Assistant. Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs). Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development. Promote positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom. Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children with special educational needs. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
