Axon Moore are recruiting on behalf of a successful SME business based in Oldham to appoint a Finance Analyst. The company has grown consistently and they’re now at the point where they need strong reporting and analysis in order to make strategic business decisions and identify opportunities for growth.
This role will work within the finance team, reporting into the Financial Controller and will liaise with other department leads to provide comprehensive analysis, reporting and insight in various areas across the business.
Salary and benefits:
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 DOE and up to 10% bonus. Hybrid working 2 days from home is available after 3m probation, 35 hour week, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, free parking and plenty of social events.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and analyse financial and performance reports, ensuring accuracy and timelines.
Produce monthly data analysis, KPI reports, and other key financial outputs to meet reporting deadlines.
Compile statutory and block funder reports, ensuring compliance with external requirements.
Review and improve reporting processes and frameworks to support strategic business goals.
Develop dashboards and analytical tools to provide meaningful insights for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the training and development of team members in data analysis and reconciliation best practices.
Perform key nominal and portfolio reconciliations to support accurate month-end reporting.
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies, maintaining organised and accurate records.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with corporation tax analysis and FCA reporting as required.
Process accounts payable and receivable invoices, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
Record AP/AR, bank, and journal transactions within accounting systems, reconciling data to ensure completeness.
Monitor departmental inboxes, respond to queries, and handle incoming calls professionally.
Provide cover and support across the finance team during busy periods, absence, or holidays.
Carry out ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as required by management.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
2-3 years’ experience in an Analytical role.
Advanced Excel proficiency and use of Power BI/SQL would be beneficial.
Experienced enough to lead analysis for a small business, bringing ideas and overhauling reporting where relevant.
A degree would be beneficial, however experience is a key driver for this role.
