Your Opportunity
We’re excited to invite a future team member to apply for the role of Vice President - Trade Surveillance (Model Management) within our Compliance team. This position is based in Manchester and offers a hybrid working model.
What You'll Do
As the Vice President - Trade Surveillance (Model Management), you will play a crucial role in managing our regulatory risk through effective trade surveillance across various businesses and countries. Your responsibilities will include:
* Executing the firm’s approach to Trade Surveillance using cutting-edge technology solutions.
* Reviewing transaction alert parameters to detect potential market abuse.
* Documenting alert parameter reviews and model performance testing clearly and accurately.
* Leading thematic surveillance programs and coordinating globally as needed.
* Collaborating with Business Compliance and relevant partner functions to ensure timely reporting of surveillance issues.
* Escalating findings in an organized manner.
* Taking a holistic approach to surveillance activities, considering the flow of orders and quotes.
* Tracking and recording issues, assisting in the production of Management Information.
What We're Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
* Experience: 7-10 years in the industry, with 3-4 years specifically in Trade Surveillance, ideally with a trading background.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of the financial services regulatory environment.
* Communication Skills: Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to understand compliance policies.
* Technical Skills: Advanced MS Office proficiency and strong data science/analytical skills.
* Attention to Detail: A focused attitude with the ability to meet deadlines while ensuring accuracy.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
* Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing demands.
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
