Overview
A2A Risk Solutions builds products and services powered by payments data. By combining data science techniques with an intimate knowledge of payments data, we develop solutions to improve outcomes for people, businesses, and economies. Headquartered in The City of London and operating globally, we craft bespoke algorithms that help our clients understand the behaviors driving their business.
As part of a team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the A2A RS product portfolio, building automatic systems to support monitoring and operations. You will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and technologists to design systems that ensure the efficacy and efficiency of our products.
Role
Reporting to the Director of A2A RS Operations, you will:
1. Build automated monitoring tools for complex, data science-based microservice deployments, ensuring models detect fraud and money laundering effectively, predict accurately, and generate valuable insights.
2. Collaborate with Data Scientists to collect data and train models to improve accuracy and reduce false alerts.
3. Work with Engineers to develop self-healing, resilient microservices, promoting good operational practices during research, design, and development.
4. Engage with current and future technology stacks, both in the UK and internationally.
5. Utilize incident management processes, automating and integrating with Mastercard’s ticketing systems.
6. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and technical teams.

Your passion lies in building robust, efficient services to solve pressing problems in financial services. You enjoy teamwork and are interested in data science and deploying advanced algorithms as products.
You are excited by new technologies and approaches, eager to promote their enterprise use. You are detail-oriented and comfortable with coding and reviewing code. You are willing to be on-call but aim to develop systems that minimize or eliminate the need for on-call support.
* You have 1 or more years of experience in software development, data science, DevOps, or related fields.
* You communicate well with diverse stakeholders, including subject matter experts, data scientists, software engineers, and security professionals.
* You are confident in software development, willing to learn or know Python and Go.
* You understand data warehousing, can write SQL, and optimize large relational databases.
* You are interested in modern service design, including containers, orchestration, streaming platforms, APIs, and in-memory/NoSQL stores.
