- The chance to shape and lead a high-quality service Key Responsibilities Overall management and leadership of the childrens home Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 Lead, manage, and supervise the staff team Develop and implement care plans for each child Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection Manage budgets and resources effectively Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings Liaise with social workers, families, and external professionals Maintain accurate records and documentation Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections Create a positive, nurturing environment for children Handle complaints, incidents, and emergencies professionally Essential Requirements Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Minimum 2 years experience in childrens residential care Previous management or senior experience in a childrens home Knowledge and experience in managing children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Learning Disabilities (LD) Thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures Excellent leadership and team management skills Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm under pressure Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children Enhanced DBS check Desirable Qualities Currently registered or previously registered with Ofsted as a Manager Experience managing Ofsted inspections (Good or Outstanding ratings) Knowledge of therapeutic approaches to care Understanding of trauma-informed practice Experience with children with complex needs or challenging behaviors Bonus Incentives Performance-based bonuses available for: Achieving/maintaining Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings Occupancy targets Staff retention and development Positive outcomes for children About You You are a passionate, experienced manager who genuinely cares about improving the lives of vulnerable children.
