Your new company is a forward-thinking, up-and-coming organisation of consulting engineers specialising in all aspects of building services. Our client is a designer of high-quality MEP systems, providing a first-class service across various industry sectors including Healthcare, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and more. This organisation is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the industry to join their expanding Edinburgh office.

Your new role
As a graduate electrical engineer, you will help your team ensure the sustainability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems across various building types. You will be responsible for contributing to electrical design across a range of our client's projects, working closely with the electrical team. Your duties will include the design and delivery of electrical design deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and schedules. Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Working in a consultancy environment to design building electrical systems
2. Production of detailed design calculations for all aspects of electrical design
3. Production of specifications
4. Production of design notes and reports
5. Production of design drawings from conception through to detailed design
6. Playing an active role in every stage of our client's projects from feasibility to completion across multiple sectors
What you'll need to succeed
You will have an accredited Building Services / Electrical Engineering degree or higher educational qualification. You should be working towards chartership and have a willingness and passion to deliver electrical building services engineering designs across various sectors. You should have experience conducting all stages of electrical design from concept to completion, with the assistance and supervision of senior engineers. Knowledge of digital tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech/Trimble, MS Office, etc., is essential. A basic understanding of technical and legislative requirements for electrical services, good communication and people skills, and a positive attitude are also required.
