Principal Civil Engineer – Gloucester or Cardiff
Ref MR400 – Salary up to £70,000.
Overview
I am currently seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer with an ambition to oversee the technical delivery of a portfolio of projects for a successful design consultancy in Gloucester or the Cardiff office. In doing so the candidate will ensure the quality and accuracy of the engineering is to the highest standard and will be responsible for the quality management of designs and the commercial performance of projects.
Industry Focus
Our client focuses on Commercial housing of all kinds, Social housing, Care homes, Renewable energy projects – notably wind farms, Industrial developments, Remediation, Commercial and industrial with ambitions to grow its presence in the rail sector.
Project Load
Project workload is throughout South Wales and the West of England. The role therefore requires the candidate to be empathetic and supportive of staff working with their design team and will be confident and engaging with our valued clients.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the technical delivery of a portfolio of projects.
* Ensure the highest standard of engineering quality and accuracy.
* Manage the quality of design outputs and commercial performance of projects.
* Engage confidently with clients and support staff working with the design team.
* Prepare and produce technical design work and reporting, using good written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
* At least eight years of post‑graduate experience in civil engineering.
* Experience taking design responsibility for projects.
* Competence in the design of drainage, highways and civil infrastructure.
* Familiarity with the adoption procedures for highway authorities and water utilities.
* Desirable knowledge of Microdrainage, CAD & C3D.
* Likely to be Chartered; however, applicants with a similar level of experience and expertise are welcomed.
