Project Manager – Digital Project Manager (Genomic Medicine Service)

Overview
We are recruiting a Digital Project Manager to strengthen our senior Digital, Data and Informatics delivery team. This 18‑month fixed‑term post supports future service delivery and strategic priorities in the NEY Genomic Medicine Service.
Main Duties of the Job
* Drive forward our existing Genomic Laboratory Information Management System (GLIMs) implementation, providing a single solution across the region.
* Drive forward the delivery of our digital roadmap, including NHSE commissioned programmes and regional initiatives such as Cloud First Strategy, Networks of Excellence, and AI and Automation.
* Provide regional leadership requiring travel within NEY; hybrid working is available.
Job Responsibilities
* Direct and effective management of projects within time, cost and quality parameters.
* Contribute to delivery of the GLH Programme/Project portfolio and coordinate project inter‑dependencies.
* Ensure timely and accurate production of programme status reports for senior management.
* Develop and deliver a comprehensive portfolio of work comprising programmes, projects, technical requests and feasibility studies.
* Client interaction: develop a pipeline of work, manage programme/project priorities, financial tracking and reporting, and project tracking.
* Manage cross‑activity relationships and interface with colleagues, business groups, IT and external vendors.
* Contribute to development and implementation of the GLH IT Change Framework and promote its value across the change community.
* Maintain alignment to NHS direction and policy through the GLH Programme Management Operating Plan.
* Maintain a register of portfolio risks and issues with mitigation plans.
* Manage stakeholder engagement and debate up to Director level.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Degree level or equivalent qualification or substantial experience in a relevant post.
Skills
* Experience managing a team, ideally project or service support teams.
* Experience delivering change management technology.
* Analysing and forecasting staff and budgets.
* Inter‑agency working involving multiple partners.
* Supporting executive level Project Boards.
* Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience
* Managing multiple complex projects.
* Understanding of Trust policies and procedures.
* Experience managing projects in organisations of similar size and complexity within or outside the NHS.
Qualifications
* Current recognised project management qualification, preferably PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent.
