Our client seeks a Financial Controller to join their team.
Role Profile: As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for all financial activities within the company, including but not limited to the implementation and development of financial procedures, forecasting, budgeting, working capital management, grant projects, inventory auditing, development of job costing, capital investment appraisals, cost analysis, and development of new reporting platforms for monthly board packs, forecasting, and scenario planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Produce monthly management accounts and analysis.
2. Prepare annual government statutory accounts in conjunction with external accountants.
3. Develop and implement financial procedures.
4. Monitor overhead spend and perform variance analysis against budgets and cost reduction targets.
5. Lead cost awareness initiatives and collaborate with management to reduce cost variances and drive continuous improvement projects.
6. Conduct cost simulations for benchmarking, scenario planning, and modeling changes.
7. Support working capital monitoring, reporting, and scenario planning processes.
8. Establish and validate costing methods and monitor manufacturing process costs.
9. Update product costs, conduct audits, and oversee ongoing monitoring.
10. Work with operations on inventory and WIP auditing.
11. Monitor working capital cash flow, meet credit and debtor targets, and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.
12. Support grant applications, monitoring, and claims processes.
13. Prepare capital expenditure investment appraisals.
14. Manage financial scenario planning and modeling.
15. Oversee monthly rolling forecasts and annual budgets across sales, margins, overheads, projects, capital investments, working capital, and cash flow.
16. Lead ERP development team.
17. Identify, implement, and develop financial planning and analytics tools, including forecasting and scenario planning.
18. Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned by the General Manager.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Fully qualified accountant - CIMA, ACCA, ACA accreditation, or equivalent.
* Experience leading projects across multiple departments.
* Background in manufacturing environments with ERP systems and real-time data.
* Proven ability to use continuous improvement methods to drive change and enhance financial positions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex issues to non-financial stakeholders.
* Goal-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Good presentation and networking abilities.
* Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm.
