Overview
Job Summary
Assist pharmacy staff in triaging incoming prescriptions, delivering filled prescriptions to patients, and handling cashier duties. Work under the supervision of a pharmacist and follow standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in the triaging of incoming prescriptions.
2. Verify and gather necessary patient information, including name, address, phone number, date of birth, allergies, chronic conditions, requests for non-safety caps, and insurance information.
3. Assess workload, establish prescription pickup times, and queue prescriptions for processing.
4. Assist in delivering prescriptions to patients, including obtaining signatures.
5. Perform cashier duties within the Pharmacy Department.
6. Provide quality customer service to all customers.
7. Perform housekeeping duties necessary to maintain a professional environment, including replenishing vials, dispensing containers, labels, and computer paper supplies.
8. Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient information.
9. Stay current with all State and Federal requirements related to employment conditions.
10. Perform all store clerk duties as needed.
11. Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
1. Minimum: High School Diploma (or currently enrolled) or GED.
2. Preferred: Associate Degree or higher.
Vermont Employees: Must be registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician.
Experience:
Preferred: Hospital or retail pharmacy experience.
Special Conditions of Employment
* Drug test.
* Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring.
* Additional eligibility requirements based on the specific position.
Compensation
$15.50 - $16.00 per hour.
The final offer will be determined after considering relevant skills, experience, and education.
