Planning Officer
Are you ready for the next step in your planning career? Dudley MBC has three planning roles at various levels available in the planning policy team, including Senior Planning Officer – Policy, Planning Officer – Policy, and Planning Assistant – Policy.
Overview
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is experiencing significant growth with projects such as the extension of the Midland Metro, the new Dudley Interchange and the completion of Health Innovation Dudley. The emerging Local Plan is in the final stages of examination, and the planning team works on a wide range of policy documents and urban development projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and contribute to the Local Plan and other policy documents, including research and policy formulation.
* Participate in consultation events and independent examinations.
* Work on strategies for growth at both local and regional levels.
Qualifications
* RTPI accredited professional or sufficient post‑qualification experience for chartered membership of the RTPI.
* Experience working within a planning policy environment.
* Excellent negotiation, communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Key Details
* Hours: 37 per week.
* Salary: £39,152 – £41,771 (pay award pending).
* Contract: Full‑time permanent.
* Location: Hybrid – home and office at Council House, Priory Road, Dudley.
* Working days: 3+ days a week in office (pro‑rata) or onsite full‑time.
