Senior Residential Child Care Worker
As part of the Where Our Children Live program, our Residential Service is expanding. One of our new homes, based in Morecambe and Lancaster, is now seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join us as Senior Residential Child Care Workers. This initiative is focused on creating safe, supportive homes for Lancashire children and is a key part of our wider strategy to modernise and expand residential childcare across the county.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support a team of RCCWs, acting as a shift leader and example for staff.
* Champion the care, safety and development of children with complex needs.
* Support and implement care plans, education plans, and emotional wellbeing strategies.
* Mentor and guide staff, promoting high standards of practice.
* Contribute to safeguarding, inspections and care planning processes.
* Operate on a rota basis that includes days, evenings, weekends and sleep‑in shifts.
Requirements
* At least 3 years’ experience in children’s social care or residential settings.
* Holder of a QCF Level 4 or NVQ Level 3/4 (or equivalent).
* Confidence in leading shifts and supervising staff as a Team Leader.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children’s legislation.
* Resilient, compassionate and committed to improving outcomes for young people.
* Required to provide a car for duties and have business‑use insurance (disability exception may be considered).
