We are recruiting a caring, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary school in the SL1 area of Slough. The school provides a calm, structured, safe, and supportive environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated additional learning and communication needs.
This is a full-time role for individuals who are passionate about SEN and committed to supporting pupils to engage, learn, and grow in confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities
6. Support pupils with ASD in classroom learning and 1:1 sessions
7. Help children access learning and develop independence
8. Use visual supports and communication tools to encourage engagement
9. Promote emotional regulation, confidence, and positive social interaction
10. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and on-site specialists
11. Provide personal care support (toileting, dressing, hygiene) when required
12. Maintain a calm, consistent, and pupil-centred approach to behaviour and learning
About You
You will be a strong fit for this role if you are:
13. Patient, caring, reliable, and emotionally grounded
14. A confident communicator with pupils and staff
15. Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn
16. Comfortable supporting children with autism and complex needs
17. Calm and supportive during moments of dysregulation or distress
18. Experienced in SEN, care, or school settings (beneficial but not essential)
19. A graduate (Psychology, Education, or related degrees helpful but not required)
20. Familiar with PECS or Makaton (advantageous but not essential — training available)
