The role
A specialist engineering business in the Bidford area is seeking a skilled CNC Setter to support the production of high quality, precision‑engineered products used across a range of technical applications. Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you’ll play a key role in machining and preparing components to a consistently high standard.
Offered as a permanent contract, the position of CNC Setter is a full-time role (Monday to Friday) with competitive salary, dependent upon experience and immediate start available. Ideal candidate would possess previous experience with CNC Mill/Lathe setting.
Duties required of CNC Setter:
* Set and run CNC mill, lathe and router machinery, including Ajax AJPR400/AJAT320 (Siemens 8D controls) and Olympus router
* Use Fusion 360 CAM for mill/lathe programs and VCarve for router cutting files
* Program CNC router files for cutting flight case panels and other components
* Load machines and store precut panels into labelled bays, disposing of waste materials appropriately
* Interpret and understand technical drawings and specifications
* Deburr machined parts and prepare components for anodising
* Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to maintain high standards
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
Skills and attributes required by CNC Setter:
* Proven experience in a similar CNC machining role
* Strong experience in CNC mill/lathe setting (essential)
* Experience using Fusion 360 CAD/CAM or similar software (advantageous)
* Proficiency with hand and power tools
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
* High attention to detail with strong problem‑solving abilities
* Flexible and able to move between tasks in a busy production environment
* Positive “can‑do” attitude and strong team ethic
Location: Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8am–5pm; Fridays 8am–12pm or optional 8am–5pm
Salary: £15 to £17 per hour dependent upon experience
