Senior Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) Location: Isleworth, West London Salary: Competitive Excellent Benefits Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00) About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join our established Facilities Maintenance Team. In this key role, you’ll provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure our mechanical building systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all statutory requirements. Key responsibilities include: * Delivering and overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on mechanical systems, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date. * Providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team and contractors. * Managing subcontractors and ensuring all works are carried out to high standards under a permit-to-work system. * Acting as Authorised Person (AP) or Responsible Person (RP) for mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, and domestic water services. * Participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota, with the ability to respond to site within one hour if required. * Supporting the Maintenance Supervisor and Management Team in planning, compliance, and project delivery. About You You’ll be an experienced and qualified mechanical engineer with a strong background in building services maintenance and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Essential skills and experience: * Recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or Level 3 (or higher) qualification in a relevant mechanical or building services discipline. * Significant experience in mechanical building services maintenance, ideally within a complex environment. * Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, hot and cold water, and general plant operations. * Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills. * Proven ability to diagnose faults, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with safety and statutory regulations. * Good IT literacy and familiarity with CAFM systems. * Sound knowledge of health & safety best practices and statutory maintenance requirements. Desirable: * Experience in a healthcare or critical environment. * Authorised Person (AP) for mechanical or pressure systems. * Knowledge of energy management or sustainability practices.
