Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Site Supervisor with expertise in Power Transformers installation and commissioning. In this role, you will act as the key link between the factory, site operators, and customers, ensuring seamless transformer installation and commissioning while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
This role is not a full-time on-site position—expect a 60% travel requirement, with the remaining time spent in a hybrid work setup (office/home) as agreed with management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Coordination & Supervision: Lead the technical portion of power transformer installation and commissioning, ensuring site activities follow engineering standards, compliance regulations, and customer expectations.
2. Technical Guidance & Support: Act as the key interface between factory engineers, regional site supervisors, and customers to troubleshoot issues, provide technical support, and resolve non-conformities.
3. Regional Supervisor Qualification: Work on the qualification process for regional site supervisors, ensuring they are trained to company and industry standards.
4. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Independently assess and resolve technical challenges on-site without relying solely on factory support.
5. Site Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and issue Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Technical Queries (TQs), ensuring full documentation of site activities.
6. Customer & Stakeholder Management: Lead discussions with customers, project managers, and engineering teams to coordinate transformer installations, handle site incidents, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
2. Proven experience in power transformer installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
3. Strong hands-on electrical expertise (rather than electronics).
4. Ability to work independently on problem-solving and technical decision-making.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing reports and technical documentation.
6. Solid understanding of EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) regulations and the ability to enforce safety compliance under pressure.
7. Availability to travel (60%) based on project needs.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
1. Experience with coordinating and training site teams.
2. Knowledge of ISO standards and compliance regulations.
3. Familiarity with power transformer testing and commissioning procedures.
4. Strong leadership skills—not just a messenger but a proactive problem solver.
If you’re an experienced Site Supervisor with a strong electrical background in power transformers, and you thrive in a dynamic, hands-on role where problem-solving and leadership are key, we want to hear from you!
