3 Months Contract with a Local Authority
Job Purpose
* To deliver high-quality statutory social work across Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care pathways within the Lincoln FAST Team. The postholder will undertake robust assessments, manage risk using evidence-based approaches, drive safeguarding processes, and contribute to multi-agency planning to improve outcomes and safety for children and families.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Complete high-quality Child & Family Assessments, analyzing strengths, risks, and needs.
* Undertake statutory duties across CIN, CP, and CIC cases.
* Lead and complete Section 47 enquiries, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
* Use evidence-based practice frameworks such as Signs of Safety to manage and reduce risk.
* Develop clear, outcome-focused plans that promote safety, wellbeing, and resilience.
Essential Experience Required
* Significant experience working in a statutory children’s social care setting.
* Experience undertaking Section 47 enquiries and managing complex safeguarding cases.
* Strong experience completing Child & Family Assessments and writing analytical reports.
Essential Qualifications Required
* Social Work Qualification (BA, MA, or equivalent).
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Strong knowledge of Children Act 1989, Working Together 2018, and relevant safeguarding legislation.
Additional Information to Note
* Working hours: 37 hours per week
* Enhanced DBS required.
* Location: Lamb Gardens, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN2 4EQ, United Kingdom
* Work pattern: 5 days in the office on duty weeks, flexibility on other weeks to be considered.
* Please note we work on bi-weekly payment.
