Reed FE are working with a College in Birmingham and are seeking a dedicated Art Teacher to join the team. In this role, you will be delivering UAL Diploma Level 2 and 3 to small groups of up to 10 students. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the arts and a commitment to special education needs and disabilities (SEND).
Day-to-day of the role:
* Develop and implement a rich curriculum inspired by museum, gallery artefacts, and the cultural sector.
* Teach and manage groups of up to 10 students, ensuring a supportive and effective learning environment.
* Prepare SEND-friendly teaching resources and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
* Collaborate with Regional SEND Leads and employ Pinc Universal Support Strategies to enhance student learning and participation.
* Work closely with the careers and employability team to prepare students for work experience.
* Engage in community and cultural partnerships to enrich student projects and learning experiences.
* Monitor and report on student progress using college systems, ensuring tailored support and adjustments are made based on SEND learning needs.
* Organize and deliver themed termly art projects and student exhibitions.
* Participate in college CPD events, team meetings, and collaborate with wider college teams to support holistic student development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in teaching, specifically with SEND students.
* Ability to develop and adapt curriculum and teaching resources tailored to SEND.
* Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of effectively directing support teams and collaborating with various educational and community partners.
* Proficiency in using technology and other resources to enhance learning.
