🚨 Journalism Internship – Driving Hydrogen
Remote / Hybrid (Leeds / Harrogate optional) | Flexible hours | Paid per article (freelance basis)
Driving Hydrogen launched in 2024 to cover the rise of hydrogen mobility - from cars, vans, trucks and buses to heavy machines, motorsport, refuelling infrastructure, and the energy policy behind it all.
Nine months in, we’re the most engaged hydrogen media brand in the space. Our audience is growing fast, and our stories are being read by engineers, investors, operators, policymakers and Joe Public across the UK, Europe, North America and beyond.
We’re now looking for a journalism intern to join us and help expand our coverage across this fast-moving sector.
What you’ll be doing:
* Writing articles across the full range of hydrogen mobility - cars one day, policy the next
* Turning press releases into proper stories, with structure, clarity and punch
* Pitching and researching original ideas - interviews, explainers, deep dives
* Working directly with our editor to sharpen your reporting and build a portfolio
* Seeing your work published, credited and widely read
This is a proper writing role. You’ll be contributing from day one.
What we’re after:
* Someone with a clear, confident writing style and a feel for good storytelling
* Curiosity about clean transport, engineering or the wider energy transition
* A bit of initiative - we won’t spoon-feed you ideas
* You don’t need to be an expert in hydrogen, but you should be up for learning fast
* Some writing examples (published or not) that show how you think and write
What we offer:
* Paid per article, with extra work available if you want it
* Fully flexible hours - fit it around your schedule
* Remote-first, with an office base in Leeds/Harrogate if you want in-person time
* The chance to shape coverage at one of the most exciting new titles in clean mobility
You’ll be part of a small, sharp editorial team, working on real stories with real impact.
