We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Physiotherapist to join our Respiratory team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual eager to enhance both their clinical expertise and leadership skills within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Our Physiotherapy Department is committed to advancing the role of physiotherapy in respiratory care. Under the mentorship of experienced Band 7 professionals, you will receive strong guidance, career development opportunities, and a culture that fosters excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development (CPD).
The team together covers our Respiratory Ward, Cardiology, Haematology and our Medical Acute Dependency Unit. Although this post mainly focuses on MADU and our Respiratory Ward.
As a senior clinician, you will play a key role in:
* Supervising, educating, and appraising physiotherapists, support staff, and students.
* Leading and contributing to service development, ensuring high-quality patient care and innovation in practice.

Main duties of the job
* Deliver a high-quality physiotherapy service by assessing and treating patients with complex presentations.
* Supervise and mentor newly qualified physiotherapists, technicians, assistants, and students while contributing to the education of multidisciplinary team (MDT) staff.
* Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and actively participate in departmental activities.
* Take part in the weekend and on-call service as required.
* Weekend working commitments will be determined based on service demands

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* HCPC Registration
* Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
* Member of relevant clinical interest group (E.g. ACPRC)
* CSP member
Experience
Essential criteria
* Completion of band 5 rotations. This includes experience in the relevant clinical areas, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgical/ICU, Elderly Care, Neuro, Outpatients.
* Relevant clinical respiratory postgrad NHS experience
* Post grad NHS experience of working as part of an MDT
Desirable criteria
* Experience of research
* Pulmonary Rehabilitation experience
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Sound knowledge of physiotherapy in the relevant area
* Ability to undertake lone working
* Ability to pass skills/knowledge onto others in formal and informal environment
* Knowledge and understanding of acute and community services including social care and mental health services
Desirable criteria
* Facilitation skills
