Learning4Life-Gy are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, resilient and committed Teaching Assistant, with experience of working with learners with complex needs, to join our growing school and dedicated team. The successful candidate will support one of our learners on a 1:1 basis.
This role is 15 hours per week, with the full timetable still to be confirmed, however the hours will be across 2.5 days per week. The position is term-time only.

Overall Purpose of the Teaching Assistant Role
To support teachers and help learners with their educational, emotional and social development, both in and out of the classroom. To work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of learners while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. To give assistance to learners so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
Responsibilities
* Assist teachers in lesson planning and preparation
* Deliver tailored teaching activities to individual learners or small groups
* Provide one-to-one support to learners who require additional help
* Facilitate group activities
* Use instructional materials and technology to enhance teaching and learning
* Listen to learners read and read to them
* Support teachers in managing challenging learner behaviour and promoting positive behaviour in a positive learning environment
* Support the social and emotional development of learners, reporting any issues where necessary
* Develop and implement personal learning plans or interventions
* Provide extra support and encouragement to learners who are struggling academically, socially or emotionally
* Monitor learner progress and assess their learning outcomes
* Collaborate with teachers, trusted adults and external support services to address learners' individual needs effectively.
* Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, grading, and organising educational resources
* Prepare classroom material and resources for lessons and activities
* Manage classroom equipment and technology, ensuring they are in working order.
* Support teachers with paperwork, documentation, and other responsibilities.
* Provide personal care where required as part of the support role, in alignment with Learning4life-GY's Personal Care Policy.
* Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected at this level.

Experience:
