My client in the Cudworth area of Barnsley are looking for a candidate with Mechanical Fitting / Plant.
This role involves assisting with the safe and efficient handling, positioning, and installation of mechanical infrastructure, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with site safety protocols.
Responsibilities
* Install mechanical components including pipework, brackets, supports, and ducting.
* Operate plant equipment (FLT, scissor lift, cherry picker) to transport, position, and install materials at height or in confined spaces.
* Interpret mechanical drawings and layout plans to ensure accurate installation.
* Assist with assembly and alignment of mechanical systems and equipment.
* Use hand and power tools to complete mechanical tasks safely and efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with site safety standards.
* Follow all health and safety protocols, including safe use of lifting equipment and working at height.
Requirements
* Previous welding experience.
* Proven experience in mechanical installation or utilities work.
* Competent in operating FLT, scissor lift, and cherry picker (valid licenses/certifications required).
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
* Strong understanding of manual handling and safe lifting practices.
* Comfortable working at height and in physically demanding environments.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
