Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Camden Community Integrated Adult Service for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our physical health community rotation.

This nine‑month rotational post is based within the diverse London Borough of Camden and consists of five rotations: inpatient rehabilitation (both multi‑pathology and Level 2 Neurology wards), community rehabilitation, Rapid Access Services, and reablement flats/supported transition. It offers varied clinical experience and opportunities for development.

The post may soon expand to include Whittington Hospital, providing experience in hand therapy, respiratory care and care of older adults.

We recognise the importance of cultivating clinical excellence and supporting career progression. You will receive excellent clinical and managerial supervision throughout your rotations, and opportunities to supervise staff, educate, and access both internal and external training.

Main duties of the post

* Inpatient rehabilitation – work at St Pancras Rehab Unit (SPRU) with one post on multi‑pathology wards and one on the Neurology wards. You will provide complex assessments, high‑impact clinical decisions, and develop case‑management skills while liaising with medical and therapy teams and GPs.
* Rapid Access Service – 7‑day community extended hours service based at St Pancras Hospital. You will provide high‑impact therapeutic interventions for patients at risk of admission or recent discharge, working closely with nurses, paramedics, doctors, pharmacists and social workers to keep patients at home as safely as possible.
* East Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) – provide at‑home rehabilitation and complex case management to patients in East Camden, working alongside GPs, district nurses, complex care nurses, social workers and community partners.
* Reablement flats/supported transition – provide in‑reach therapy to support patients returning home, contribute to discharge planning and work intensity within the first week after discharge. You will set community‑based goals in the first 5 days after returning home.
* Supervise and monitor junior staff, including Band 5 OTs, rehabilitation health‑care assistants and PT students.
* Work Monday to Friday 9‑5 pm with out‑of‑hours coverage up to 10 pm during some duties.
