Healthy Child Assistant

Job responsibilities

Enrol in the Gedling Healthy Families Team to deliver universal health reviews, breast‑feeding support and other duties as part of the 0‑19 Healthy Child Programme. Experience and a passionate attitude towards breast‑feeding are essential.

Assist with lone working with parents and children, completing development reviews. Employ excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work independently while escalating issues to the Specialist Public Health Practitioners.

Adapt to meet service needs, manage time, use IT and work effectively within a team.

Provide induction, ongoing training, clinical and safeguarding supervision, and contribute to team development.

Must be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check, which will be deducted from the first two months’ salary.

Experience

* Working within a childcare setting.
* Customer‑facing role.

* Planning and delivering targeted activities.
* Experience of using SystmOne.
* Delivering breast‑feeding support.


Qualifications

* GCSE‑level qualifications or equivalent.
* NVQ level 3 in Early Years or Childcare (BTEC, NNEB, CACHE Diploma) or equivalent experience.


Skills

* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Use of initiative.
* Time management.
* Ability to prioritise.
* Flexibility.


Physical Requirements

* Physical ability to perform full range of duties.
