Responsibilities
* Lead safety improvement initiatives and drive a positive safety culture across the engineering function.
* Develop and implement safety & sustainability strategies aligned with company objectives.
* Act as a trusted advisor and critical friend to engineering teams and senior leaders.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, embedding a learning culture.
* Develop safety reports and KPIs, using data to identify trends and drive improvements.
* Conduct audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Act as an advisor and change leader, influencing best practices and decision-making.
Seeking someone with
* Experience in rail engineering, transport, or other safety-critical industries.
* Level 6 or 7 qualification in a relevant field.
* Membership in a professional safety body (chartered or working towards).
* Strong data analysis and reporting skills to track safety trends.
* Ability to influence and challenge leadership teams to drive cultural change.
* A proactive mindset with a passion for continual improvement and sustainability.
* Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
