Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Head of Capability to join our dynamic Kier Design team, operating nationwide. As a top-25 engineering consultancy, Kier Design is at the forefront of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across all sectors of the built environment.
With access to Kier's impressive £11bn+ project pipeline, including mega projects like High Speed 2 and Hinkley Point C, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting frameworks with national and local governments, as well as a variety of other impactful projects.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Head of Capability for Principal Design, you will:
* Provide CDM and BSA leadership across all design contracts within Kier Design.
* Lead the development and implementation of our capability growth plan.
* Collaborate with construction teams to win and successfully deliver multi-disciplinary projects.
* Ensure safety by design and client satisfaction in every project.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Managing the delivery of the Principal Designer role as required by CDM regulations and the Building Safety Act.
* Leading the preparation of fee proposals and guiding bids through governance.
* Coordinating with in-house design capability leaders for effective project resourcing.
* Providing technical leadership and support to design teams to ensure designs are safe to build and maintain.
* Promoting an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought and experience is actively encouraged.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
* Hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with demonstrable industry experience at a similar level.
* Are a member of a relevant professional body (ICE, CIHT).
* Have experience in CDM regulations and Building Safety Act implementation.
* Are trusted to deliver what you promise, acting safely and ethically.
Working Conditions
Location: Nationwide - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available, just let us know when you speak to us.
