Tony Gee is seeking a CAD Manager to provide technical leadership in CAD systems, technical drawing, and modelling across the business.
Supporting our Infrastructure sectors across the UK, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to improve consistency, efficiency, and quality in design deliverables, ensuring they align with client, project, and industry standards.
As CAD Manager, you will play a key role in integrating with project leadership teams and ensuring adherence to company and client standards. You will also bring together technician networks, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and skills development across the business
Responsibilities
1. Development and implementation of a UK-wide strategy to enhance CAD quality and efficiency.
2. Establish and maintain CAD standards, workflows, and best practices, ensuring consistency across UK projects.
3. Conduct audits, technical reviews, and compliance checks to support project teams.
4. Identify and implement process improvements, driving efficiency and technical quality.
5. Mentor and support technicians, promoting skills development and best practices.
6. Report to senior leadership on CAD quality, efficiency, and skills development.
7. Work with innovation teams to assess and implement emerging CAD technologies and automation solutions.
Experience
8. Extensive experience in CAD delivery, technical drawing, and modelling.
9. Strong technical knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other CAD software.
10. Experience in developing and implementing CAD standards across projects.
11. Familiarity with Common Data Environments (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360, ProjectWise).
12. Experience mentoring technicians and improving CAD capability in teams.
13. Strong collaboration skills, engaging with technicians, engineers, BIM specialists, and project leaders.
14. Clear communicator, experienced in training, mentoring, and technical leadership.
Desirable Experience
15. Working to client CAD standards (e.g., National Highways GG184).
16. Highways or power sector experience.
17. Automation or scripting skills (e.g., Dynamo, AutoLISP, Python, VBA).
18. Achieved or working towards a professional qualification.
