Job Description
Aberdeenshire Council Community Learning and Development (CLD) Service is seeking to recruit a 30-hour Community Learning and Development Assistant to contribute to developing and delivering local learning opportunities aligned with data-driven needs and national priorities. Successful candidates will adopt a person-centred approach, be well-organised, and confident in engaging with communities at all levels.
The position is based in Fraserburgh, serving North Aberdeenshire.
The CLD Service, part of Aberdeenshire Council's Education and Children's Service, works with individuals and groups to promote positive community and personal development. CLD is a professional body regulated by the CLD Standards Council for Scotland. The role offers opportunities for a fulfilling career that impacts lives and strengthens communities through learning.
Key duties include creating and delivering adult learning and community development initiatives focusing on literacies, family learning, and accreditation. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to addressing inequality within communities and have experience working with adults and community organisations using a CLD approach.

This role may require irregular and unsocial hours, including weekends. Candidates must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car. The post requires a commitment to continuous improvement and quality service delivery for the benefit of the Service and Aberdeenshire Council.

Responsibilities
This position involves regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG update check. If the candidate has spent over three months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
The role requires at least one reference, preferably from your current or most recent employer.
