The Role As Security Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing daily security operations, managing the Control Room, leading Security Officers, and acting as the senior on-duty representative during out-of-hours periods. You will be trusted to make critical decisions, coordinate responses to incidents and emergencies, and maintain the security and integrity of one of Birmingham's most prominent commercial destinations. Position: Security Team Leader Pay rate: £15.50 per hour Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days and nights - 12 hour shifts Location: Birmingham, B3 Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Lead, supervise, and support Security Officers across the site. Manage officer deployment, patrol schedules, static positions, and break rotations. Deliver on-shift coaching, mentoring, and operational training. Conduct detailed shift handovers and ensure effective communication between teams. Act as the primary escalation point and senior representative during management absence. Control Room & Security Systems Oversee all Control Room operations. Monitor and manage CCTV systems, access control, alarms, and life safety systems. Direct and coordinate responses to incidents and emergencies. Ensure accurate incident logging and operational reporting. Manage security equipment, keys, and access credentials. Estate Security & Patrols Conduct regular estate inspections, patrols, and security checks. Maintain a highly visible security presence across public spaces, offices, and car parks. Identify risks, hazards, defects, and vulnerabilities, escalating where appropriate. Protect the estate from theft, vandalism, unauthorised access, and anti-social behaviour. Support estate events, corporate functions, and operational activities. Safety & Incident Management Take conrol of security incidents in the absence of the Security Manager. Respond professionally to emergencies including fire alarms, evacuations, medical incidents, and security breaches. Support emergency services when required. Deliver first aid assistance in line with training and procedures. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and site procedures.
