* Competently operate platform pedestal cranes under the direction of nominated Client personnel. Crane operating duties are restricted to the specific crane(s) and platform(s) on which the employee has been deemed competent. Operations should be carried out in accordance with the authorised operators instructions manual, platform operating procedures, appropriate sections of the Company's Quality Assurance Manual, (i.e., Standing Instruction No. One) and other relevant documentation.
* Responsible for the maintenance of platform fixed lifting equipment and the control, issue and servicing of all platform portable lifting equipment. Primarily this is to ensure equipment integrity and serviceability.
* Responsible for the management of all crane spares, including planning in advance of PMRs, ordering of spares via the contract office and ensuring that all spares requests have sufficient and relevant information and is clearly numbered and prioritised.
* Ensure planned maintenance programme is carried out as agreed by Contract Manager and Client, ensuring that all other maintenance work is completed and information is recorded on the Client maintenance management system.
* Liaise daily with Contract Manager or his representative (Contract Support Engineer) to advise him of status of on-going work, highlighting any possible problems / concerns.
* Establish and maintain effective communication with platform representatives to ensure an efficient service is provided on an on-going basis.
* Liaise on Company / personal matters with the Contract Manager or his representative, Contract Support Engineer.
* Maintain a log book in each crane for recording lubrication carried out, work carried out, defects list and any operational problems.
* The incumbent is responsible for giving a detailed report of any Mechanical Handling & Lifting incidents to the Contract Manager or Contract Support Engineer, within 24 hours of the event.
* Maintain platform cranes in a clean, tidy and, where applicable, watertight condition, including cabs, machinery housings and external surfaces. External and internal paintwork should be retained in a corrosion free condition.
HSEQ Responsibilities
* It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with, and follows the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Management Systems.
* The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to the Management System processes/procedures.
* The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health, safety and/or environmental legislation to follow these.
* The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications & Experience Sparrows Stage 3 Crane Operators Certificate (or equivalent) or willing to work towards stage 3.
* Recognised Trade Apprenticeship in Mechanical Maintenance
* Hold certification in Mechanical NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
* Experience in the completion of planned maintenance activities on offshore cranes
* Experience in the completion of fault finding and repair of offshore cranes
* The ability to read technical drawings and converse on a technical level with onshore support staff
* Willing to obtain OPITO Level 1 Rigging Certification.
* Willing to work towards banksman slinger and support the deck crew as required
* Be computer literate with the ability to complete and submit accurate trip reports
