Job Description
The Rose Hotel is now looking to recruit a full time receptionist for our Front Desk team..
This is a full time role, as the hotel is open all year round.
The main duties of the role include:
· To carry out guest check in and out as our standards
· To update all guest profiles on registration
· To ensure that all payments are processed in line with Cash Handling procedure
· To answer all telephone calls efficiently
· To communicate any enquiries to the relevant department in a timely manner, ensuring that all information is correct
· To liaise with all internal and external service providers in relation to guest bookings or requests
· To assist the Reservations Department with updating reservations for individual or group bookings. This involves being familiar with any events, Block Bookings, along with FIT reservations.
· To respond to any telephone or email reservations enquiries as per The Rose Hotel SOP, ensuring that all queries are responded to in a timely and professional manner ensuring that sales are maximized
· To maintain the change float for the hotel, along with daily counting of the safe and your till float.
· To carry out end of shift cash up as per The Rose Hotel SOP
· To be familiar with all hotel special offers, rates and promotions.
· To be familiar with local attractions and services and provide up to date advice and recommendations to guests
· To be fully trained the 5 day sleepers report and be able to send this every morning when required.
· Being familiar with our corporate rates and various credit agreements that may or may not be in place for various companies and their clients.
· Being fully trained in Block reservations, how to update, add rooms and knowing the rates for various events.
· Working closely with and assisting the Reservations Department in all areas such as email enquiries, completing the ring around and booking dinner times for both individual guests as well as groups.
· To carry out any other reasonable request from management
. To attend in house training and departmental meetings
About The Role
The role is a flexible one where a member of the team has to deal with guest enquiries, reservations, know local knowledge etc.
The reservation system we use is Guestline so previous experience with this would be an advantage. Must have used a reservation package previously
We also use Resdiary for the booking of dining times in our restaurant
Working hours will vary - early/late and middle shift. Working weekends and public holidays is part of the rostered week.
Working 5 days with 2 days off
On the job training will take place
You will be provided with a uniform - dress and jacket, together with a necklace, rose pin and name badge.
Must be fluent in English
