Our Structures division works across the full spectrum of highways structures and broader infrastructure needs in London and the South East. We have a strong track record of refurbishments, improvements, heritage maintenance, structural repairs, and work for rail and tunnels.

The Highways Maintenance Apprentices Role
You will work in a supportive learning environment to develop skills, knowledge, and behaviors needed to succeed as a Highways Maintenance Apprentice. You will complete a Level 2 apprenticeship, learning about highway maintenance and repair, traffic management, and related skills.
Other responsibilities include:
* Learning to undertake various construction activities on civil engineering projects
* Developing skills in groundworks, structural concrete, pavement construction, drainage, carpentry, and landscaping
* Performing work safely, using appropriate tools, safeguards, and PPE
* Ensuring safety procedures are followed and stopping work if conditions change
* Maintaining tools and equipment, reporting defects
* Using digital tools for site record-keeping and management
* Pursuing studies to gain knowledge and skills of a Highways Operative
What we’re looking for in our Highways Maintenance Apprentices
Candidates should have GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English, be reliable, hardworking, and interested in construction. Strong communication skills, enthusiasm to learn, and develop are essential.
