Hours: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

The Consortium Trust are seeking to appoint a Careers Advisor to work at Riverwalk School and Warren School. You will play a crucial role in guiding students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in making informed decisions about their future.
You will provide personalised support, develop career plans, and ensure that the voice of the child or young person is central to the guidance process. You will be trained to deliver one-to-one guidance, which is most effective when you are knowledgeable about the options and pathways available. You will also work closely with employers and education and training providers to coordinate workplace experiences tailored to the students' needs.
As our Careers Advisor, you will:
follow plans and work on your own initiative
be able to support a range of abilities including pupils with SEND
have experience of working on a 1-to-1 basis
have knowledge of Post 16 and Post 18 education and training routes
have up-to-date knowledge of relevant models and theories related to career-related education and training for young people with and without additional needs and disabilities
possess high-level organisational skills, be efficient and results-oriented, with good time management abilities
be able to work constructively as part of a team and independently, building effective and professional relationships with partner agencies and organisations
be creative and driven, able to display innovation, and able to build effective career plans that are practical and ambitious
be trustworthy and honest, and able to work with integrity to support the wider team's success
have experience of using PECS and/or Makaton to support pupils' communication
be able to adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines
be able to maintain confidentiality
have a desire to participate in school and trust CPD opportunities
have an awareness of Safeguarding.
Qualifications:
Grade C/4+ level of Numeracy and Literacy
A basic level of computer literacy
SEND Experience (preferable)
CEIAG Level 4 or Level 6 (preferable)
