Are you ready to lead groundbreaking work in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and contribute to the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future? RSK Group is searching for a Senior or Principal Environmental Manager with a construction-based background to spearhead a flagship CCS project in North Wales—a critical part of our national renewable energy transformation strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role at the forefront of sustainable innovation and help shape a cleaner, greener UK.
The Role:
We’re looking for a driven professional with a construction or infrastructure background who is:
* Comfortable being on-site weekly, managing dynamic project environments.
* Managing and building successful client and stakeholder relationships.
* Capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across sectors.
* Eager to develop project management expertise, with support to upskill rapidly in this area.
Geographic Scope:
You’ll be based in the North West, covering a project patch that includes Lancashire, Cheshire, Flintshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, and West Yorkshire. While you won’t be working across all these regions at once, these are potential locations for future projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carbon Capture Leadership: Take the reins on a major CCS project in North Wales—driving technical delivery, compliance, and innovation in one of the UK’s most exciting low-carbon initiatives.
* Renewables Transformation: Contribute to a portfolio of renewable and sustainable energy projects across the UK.
* Client Management: Maintain and develop strong client relationships, ensuring RSK is the trusted partner of choice.
* Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure delivery excellence.
* Tender & Proposal Oversight: Lead strategic bids and tenders, working across business units to secure future opportunities.
What You Bring:
* Chartered (or working toward chartered) status with robust experience in environmental or infrastructure consultancy.
* Solid technical foundation in environmental policy, legislation, and SHEQ practices.
* Confidence in project and financial management with a track record of profitability and stakeholder satisfaction.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
Why Join RSK?
* Impact-Driven Work: Be part of nationally significant carbon and renewables projects shaping the UK’s energy future.
* Competitive Package: £40,000–£60,000 salary, strong pension, and a flexible benefits plan.
* Career Development: CPD, mentorship, and support toward chartership—all in a business committed to growth and sustainability.
* Flexible Working: A balanced mix of home, office, and site-based work to support your lifestyle.
