About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and discreet Senior Executive / Administrative Support Officer to join our secondary school team in Llanelli. This is a key role providing confidential and professional administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), while also acting as Clerk to the Governing Body.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled administrator who thrives in a fast-paced educational environment and is confident working at senior leadership and governance level.
The position will initially be offered through Teaching Personnel, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent contract for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Executive & Senior Leadership Support
Provide high-level, confidential administrative support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
Prepare reports, briefing papers, presentations and correspondence.
Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Act as a key liaison between SLT, staff, parents, external agencies and stakeholders.
Clerk to the Governing Body
Organise and administer Governing Body meetings and committee meetings.
Prepare and distribute agendas and supporting documentation in a timely manner.
Attend meetings (some may be outside standard hours by arrangement) and take accurate, professional minutes.
Provide procedural and governance advice in line with statutory guidance.
Maintain governance records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
General Administrative Duties
Support whole-school administrative systems and processes.
Maintain accurate records and filing systems (electronic and paper-based).
Assist with policy documentation and updates.
Contribute to the smooth and professional operation of the school office.

Has proven senior administrative or executive support experience.

Has experience servicing committees or boards (governance experience desirable).

Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
Level 3 qualification in Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
Experience in a senior administrative role.
Desirable:
Level 4/5 qualification in Business Administration or Management.
Experience working in a school or educational setting.
Previous experience as a Clerk to Governors.
Knowledge of education governance procedures and statutory requirements.
